Veterans Day is a day to pay tribute to the heroism of our military and the sacrifices service members have made for the United States. This weekend fly your flags, wear your most patriotic red, white and blue attire and check out these parades, celebrations and events throughout South Florida. 

Palm Beach County 

Palm Beach Gardens Veterans Day Ceremony 

Join the City of Palm Beach Gardens in honoring those who have served and who are currently serving in the U.S. military at a ceremony on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The celebration will feature the Palm Beach Gardens Police and Fire Honor Guard and music will be provided by Palm Beach Gardens High School’s Pizzazz Chorus.

Wellington Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony 

The entire community is invited to come out and honor our heroes at the annual Veterans Day parade and ceremony on Nov. 11 at 8:15 a.m. The event is hosted by The Village of Wellington and the American Legion, Chris Reyka Memorial and Wellington Post 390. The parade will be followed by a ceremony to pay tribute to the current and former members of the military.

PGA Commons Deals 

To honor men and women who have served and are serving, stores and restaurants at PGA Commons are rolling out discounts and freebies. Just show military ID, and enjoy a day at the Palm Beach Gardens shopping center.

Stuart 

Stuart Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony 

The Veterans Council of Martin County is hosting a Veterans Day parade and ceremony in tribute to our military on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. to noon. The parade will be led by veterans and veteran service organizations, followed by various groups from the community.

Boca Raton and Delray Beach

Free Meals for Veterans at Boston’s on the Beach

Boston’s on the Beach, a premier sports bar in Delray Beach, is saluting heroes by offering free meals to all past and present service members on Nov. 11. from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., up to $20 in value. Military ID or proof of service is required. Additionally, the public is invited to join in celebrating by enjoying live music by bands Uproot Hootenanny and BACHACHO.

Free Hot Coffee at Brooklyn Water Bagel 

The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel, a popular restaurant known for its Brooklyn-style bagels and iced coffee made with frozen coffee ice cubes, is offering free hot coffee for veterans and active duty military on Nov. 11 to thank them for their service at participating locations. This offer is limited to one per guest, and you must present military ID to redeem it.

Boca Raton Veterans Day Concert and Ceremony 

The City of Boca Raton is hosting a ceremony from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Veterans Day evening concert on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. The ceremony will include performances by veteran groups, music by high school bands and drills by Boca Raton Community High School NJROTC.  The live concert performance will feature the Florida Wind Symphony: “An American Tribute” at the Mizner Park Amphitheater to honor and celebrate the men and women of the armed forces.

Broward County 

Coral Springs Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

Wear patriotic colors, bring your family, friends and neighbors and enjoy the Coral Springs Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Park on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The event will feature a keynote speaker, a 21-gun salute, placing of a wreath and raising of the military and United States flags to honor those who have served our country.

MISSION UNITED Veteran Thanksgiving Food Basket 

United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED is hosting its annual Military Veteran Thanksgiving food basket giveaway on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The organization will distribute 500 Thanksgiving dinner baskets that include canned and packaged foods and a Publix gift card to Broward County military veterans and active service members. Recipients must present their registration ticket and proof of veteran or military status to pick up the dinner baskets.

Davie Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony

The Town Council of Davie invites members of the community to join in celebrating the heroism of the members of the military, past and present, at its Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Veterans Park. Bring your American flags and wear your best red, white and blue!

Lauderdale-By-The Sea Veterans Day Celebration

Salute our veterans, the heroes who protect and serve our country, at the Veterans Day Celebration presented by the town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. The event will feature keynote speaker Colonel Leland Liebe, U.S. Army, music by the Patriot Bass Trio and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.
