SOCAPRI Brings Italian Resort Wear To Palm Beach's Worth Avenue
Capri, Italy, is known for its irresistible, crystal-clear waters and relaxed-yet-sophisticated vibe. So when Carmine and Marino Cucinella were looking for a place to open their flagship U.S. boutique SOCAPRI in 2013, what city did they choose? Palm Beach, of course, for its allure as a casually elegant resort town with a lifestyle similar to Capri.
“SOCAPRI favors specific locations where it is possible to find the fundamental values that inspire the brand,” Carmine says. “Palm Beach has been the first U.S. city to be chosen for this reason. It’s a resort city, it’s a destination for jetsetters and exclusivity lovers.”
The shop on Worth Avenue offers a taste of the Italian lifestyle the moment you step inside. Scents reminiscent of Capri welcome guests while prosecco, limoncello and espresso are offered to those perusing the boutique.
SOCAPRI features men’s and women’s resort wear in silk, cotton and linen, in addition to sandals, shoes and accessories. Each piece is handmade in Italy using quality workmanship.
Not a place for finding fashion fads, classic styles fill SOCAPRI’s racks instead. Browse ’60s-inspired Audrey dresses, hand-crafted Swarovski sandals, men’s polo shirts and the best-selling “pantofola” slipper shoes. And with only a select number of sizes in stock, shoppers can be confident in knowing they will walk out with a rare piece.
SOCAPRI’s Resort 2017 collection, Aquatic Connections, will arrive this month and is inspired by the sea and the island of Capri. The women’s wear collection will incorporate five different design themes: stripes, passavele, orchids, majolica and tropical.
Majolica is an iconic pattern at SOCAPRI and for good reason as it uses a lotus flower, which can be found all over the island. The clothing features the pattern in white brush strokes accompanied by deep blues of the Mediterranean Sea. Sailing knots leading to the port of Marina Piccola inspired the passavale print. Intriguing details and ribbons adorn linen tops, blouses and dresses.
Men can shop effortless styles made in crisp white linens, light blues and soft pinks, plus ample tailor-made jackets, belts, bathing suits and more.
And with the tagline “Tailored to Enjoy Life,” the Cucinella brothers’ message is easy to understand: while wearing SOCAPRI, life is meant to be enjoyed no matter where the destination lies.
