Life is so busy these days. It’s definitely easier to stay in touch with friends through social media, but for those special people in your life, replenishing the relationship with a face-to-face connection is a must. But it can be difficult to find a place and time with no distractions.
For an instant remedy, take time to indulge in a “girls’ day out,” or as I have coined it, “GDO.”
The Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach provides the ideal setting for a day of catching up with good friends.Read more about Holding Court

Washington, D.C.—a city with distinct character filled with history and politics, museums and monuments, universities and institutions, along with a diverse mix of government, foreign emissaries, lobbyists, protestors and petitioners. We visit D.C. for many different reasons and when we do, the choices of where to stay are plentiful. Few of us realize that where we choose to stay while visiting a location determines much about our experience. The location and buzz of an area provide insight and perspective into the culture and flavors of a city.
A trip to the nation’s capital is filled with culture,
politics and surprisingly good food.Read more about Escape To The Embassy Row Hotel For A Chance To Immerse Yourself Into The Rhythm of Washington, D.C.
Peaceful Retreat
Usually, my phone is an extension of my hand – wiring me to a never-ending stream of emails, text messages and social media accounts. St. Pete Beach’s milky sands and cool, transparent waters had me detached. My device stayed tucked away with my belongings while I got a dose of UV rays and seafood.

I forgot that Disney’s Space Mountain was so thrilling. This twirling, twisting roller coaster thrusts you through space – even more exciting when you can’t anticipate the next drop because you’re in total darkness surrounded by stars. I loved every second.
My last Disney experience happened a decade ago, but the combination of my passion for thrilling rides and a festival highlighting two favorite hobbies, gardening and cooking, lured me to Walt Disney World and the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.
Epcot's 21st International Flower and Garden Festival offers the chance to mingle with TV stars and brush up on cooking and gardening skills.Read more about FLOWER POWER

Why is it that even the simplest things are never easy? Especially planning a girlfriend getaway, in spite of the fact it was just for one day and only three girls. Schedules of husbands, kids, parents and work had to be juggled just for one special day – time together at the spa, time for the three Rs: reconnection, relaxation and reflection.
Worth it? You bet. And what better venue to plan a girlfriend getaway than the Eau Spa, Palm Beach’s newest addition.
See why the Eau Spa has been ranked one of the top spas in the world.Read more about A Girlfriend Getaway

“My island for your boat.” – in the early 1920s William K. Vanderbilt knew he had made a great deal when he traded his 250-foot-yacht, The Eagle, for Fisher Island and the elite privacy that this winter retreat would provide. The deal had been Carl Fisher’s idea. Fisher had purchased the island from Dana A. Dorsey, one of America’s first African-American millionaires. Fisher, whom some considered part entrepreneur and part huckster, also was the successful developer of Miami Beach.

If you are wondering where to escape for a few days when your next 50th wedding anniversary comes up, you can do worse than Little Palm Island Resort & Spa. As the name suggests, this is an island, is little and has a lot of palms. It is off Little Torch Key in the Florida Keys, about 30 miles up from Key West. Unlike most of the numerous islands in the Keys, which are largely mangrove-covered, this one has so much tropical foliage it could pass for the South Pacific. In fact, it did, back in 1963 when it was selected for the film, “PT 109,” the saga about President John F.Celebrating a 50th anniversary in the Keys.Read more about Little Palm Island

I’ve discovered how to plan the perfect weekend getaway in Miami. Step one: Book a room at the Mondrian South Beach. A penthouse suite, if possible. Step two: Don’t fight the voice in your head that sings “When You Wish Upon a Star,” as you enter the whimsical resort. Just face the music: You’re in for a dreamlike weekend.
