Chasin A Dream Foundation will host its fourth annual gala, this year dedicated to the adrenaline-fueled sport of racing with the theme “Raceway Rendezvous,” at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place on April 6, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
The evening will kick off with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Afterward, guests will sit down to a three-course dinner complemented by a live auction featuring Neil Saffer of Saffer + Company. A fashion show, emceed by CBS12 News anchor Sam Kerrigan and Jupiter Magazine publisher Tanya Lorigan, will showcase contemporary fashions donned by the children the charity serves.
Nine children between the ages of 3 and 14 will walk the runway, accompanied by racecar drivers Kyle Kirkwood, Shane Sawyer, and others. Chasin A Dream’s founder and executive director, Lori Griffith, will share stories about each child.
In 2023, the charity raised $350,000 and hopes to meet its $500,000 goal this year. Funds raised from the event will support Chasin A Dream’s Critical Need and Hospital Backpack initiatives. The former pays for cost-of-living expenses such as mortgage, utilities, food, and transportation of eligible families. The latter supplies hospitalized children with backpacks containing an iPad or laptop, a handmade life-sized dog toy, crafts, blankets, toiletries, and more.
