Dr. David Herold, a board-certified radiation oncologist, is passionate about treating and eradicating skin cancer. After earning an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Dr. Herold joined Dr. Ted Schiff at Water’s Edge Dermatology. While there, he helped to create a skin cancer treatment program unlike any other dermatology group in Florida that offers patients surgical and non-surgical options.
“It is important for skin cancer patients to understand they have more than one treatment option,” says Dr. Herold. “I am passionate about educating patients and offering the choice of Electron Beam Therapy.”
A Florida native, Dr. Herold graduated from Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, and attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and later Oxford University in Oxfordshire, England. He earned a medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, received training in internal medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, and then completed a residency in Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase/University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. Herold began his career in radiation oncology at Jupiter Medical Center during which he was responsible for the radiation oncology program and pioneered the skin cancer program. He has also practiced at Palm Beach Gardens Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Good Samaritan, Wellington Hospital, and the Palm Beach Cancer Institute.
When not treating patients, Dr. Herold is an active lecturer at meetings nationwide and enjoys riding his mountain bike at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Riverbend Park or Apoxee Trail. He is an avid pianist and an active wildlife and nature photographer.
