Head to Antique Row to visit a boutique full of all things fashionable and fun.
“Come as a guest, leave as a friend.” Those words are printed on a piece of vintage artwork that hangs on the back wall at Coastal Girls Co., located in West Palm Beach’s Antique Row Art and Design District. The saying couldn’t hold more truth for boutique owners Dionne Schneider and Danyelle Jolly, who come to the store each day ready to provide the ultimate retail therapy experience.
Comfy conversation chairs sitting among clothing racks create an interactive environment where the sisters offer fashion advice or catch up with customers. The duo provides a genuine experience, where they not only help pick out fabulous styles, but they also make sure each shopper feels great wearing the clothing before leaving.
“It’s fun to go shopping at Macy’s or Bloomy’s, but if you can go beyond that and say to a customer, ‘I just got a dress in that I know will look fantastic on you,’ and you have that relationship with your customer, that’s not only fulfilling to a customer saying, ‘Oh, thank goodness I don’t have to look for 45 minutes,’ but it’s nice for us because it’s so far beyond getting a sale or selling something,” Jolly says.
Different Than Department
Coastal Girls sells a variety of chic clothing full of bright patterns and colors with an old Palm Beach essence. They keep the boutique fresh with new inventories of a limited number of styles from designers like Chelsea Gunn, sailor-sailor, Mud Pie, Pink Owl and Michelle Parisou.
Dainty jewelry, fashionable totes and home decor with nautical touches only begin to scratch the surface of what can be found when browsing the boutique. There’s also a selection of local products, like the original Palm Beach sandals, Key West aloe and Florida salt scrubs.
Most recently, the sisters released their own clothing line that pairs fabric with the styles appropriate for South Florida women. Find dresses, tops and pants made with UV-protective fabric in dazzling prints with flattering fits like the classic shift dress. Their goal is to continue adding to the line seasonally, while creating timeless looks. They design with the intent for pieces to be wearable 20 years from now.
Girls Night Out
Shoppers are welcome to stop by and browse the racks or find the perfect gift, but there’s also the option to book a reservation for a private shopping trip. Or, make a night of it with friends, and enjoy food and drinks coupled with in-store shopping. It’s all part of the Coastal Girls family experience.
