The Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park will host its largest annual fundraiser on Saturday, October 16, from 1 to 9 p.m. Firefest 2021 is a day of education and fun designed to celebrate Florida’s relationship with fire while increasing awareness and teaching about the essentials of safety. The fire-focused portion will take over the park with a series of prescribed burn demonstrations, wildlife presentations by park staff and rehabilitation centers, and meet-and-greets with local firefighters.
For a healthy dose of fall fun, the whole family is invited to enjoy hayrides and swamp buggy tours through the park, explore the pumpkin patch, sit by a campfire, and indulge in some fall-themed treats. A 65-foot inflatable obstacle course, toddler bounce house, axe throwing, live music by The String Assassins and The Little Things Duo, and a ghost tour will keep guests of all ages entertained all day long.
Register for the events here. Park admission costs $6 per vehicle (with up to eight passengers) and cash is recommended.
