CityPlace is getting a much-needed makeover. The Related Companies breaks ground on its first phase of the renovation, starting with a fresh, urban design for Rosemary Avenue, the main street. Look out for new bike racks, more trolley stops, lush landscaping, parking garage improvements and public art. Next summer will launch the project’s second phase, complete with new dining venues, shops, updated public spaces and even an AMC Theater renovation.

Even renovations at The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts have a flashy stage name. Titled “Kravis 2020: The Future is Now,” the $50 million expansion project is underway and includes expanding the Dreyfoos Hall lobby—think more bar space, more seating and new restrooms. Beautiful outdoor green space plazas on the center’s corners will also be created. New technology for security, the box office and the garage will be installed in addition to a redesigned main parking garage.

Clematis Street also gets a new look. With a goal of improving and redesigning West Palm Beach’s historic shopping and dining district, the Clematis Streetscape project’s first phase of its transformation is complete. The new 300 block of Clematis is now a pedestrian-friendly, redesigned area boasting larger sidewalks with space for outdoor dining and lush landscape. The multi-phase project will continue this summer with the renovation of other Clematis Street blocks.

The highly anticipated reopening of The Norton Museum of Art is next month. The expanded and transformed museum will be inaugurated with eight exhibitions, a public garden with 14 contemporary sculptures, several commissioned site-specific installations, a new auditorium, a restaurant and classrooms. The new exhibits will include rare pieces from the private collections of museum supporters, pop art, 16th-century Chinese paintings, photography and watercolors. The museum will also host several new art, film, dance and music programs.

There’s a lot more science coming to the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium thanks to a $1.2 million expansion that’s just one part of a seven-phase, $45 million plan. The latest reveal includes the 5-acre Fisher Family Science Trail with 15 new interactive exhibits. A new amphitheater will break ground early this year in addition to the 2,500-square-foot “Journey Through the Human Brain” permanent exhibit.

Palm Beach’s iconic shopping and lifestyle destination The Royal Poinciana Plaza debuts a slew of new tenants this season. From fitness and fashion to art and interiors, the hottest brands will be calling the island home. Clothing boutiques include 100% Capri, alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet, lululemon, Roller Rabbit, Stoney Clover Lane and Zadig & Voltaire. Art gallery GAVLAK and furnishings shop The Grand Tour by Caroline Rafferty will also open. And rounding out the additions is The Yoga Society of Palm Beach’s newest Zen space.

Bright and colorful prints splash onto Worth Avenue with the opening of the Lilly Pulitzer flagship location. The Gardens Mall also unveils the brand’s largest shop in its new spacious location.

Décor pieces have a home here as well, including a collection from the tabletop collaboration with potter Dodie Thayer, a Palm Beach native whose signature lettuce ware was collected by influential women, from the Duchess of Windsor to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

It features two- and three-bedroom residences that range from 2,700 to 3,000 square feet, starting at $2.3 million. The seven-story building also boasts five swanky penthouses complete with private rooftops and plunge pools, outdoor kitchens and sweeping ocean views. Owners will have access to a private concierge; VIP perks at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa; and the Star Jets International on-demand private jet charter services.

One of the island’s trendiest hot spots unveils its redesigned lounge and bar area. As one of chef Clay Conley’s Palm Beach signature restaurants, Buccan’s new lounge interiors perfectly mirror the relaxed and posh environment of the island and its guests. The Gardens Mall unveils several new and renovated stores, including Arhaus, the luxury furniture and home décor 17,000-square-foot space between Bloomingdale’s and Sears. For something sparkly, celebs like Scarlett Johansson, Rihanna and Katy Perry head to Yvel, the lavish jewelry company open on the lower level. Also on the upper level, California brand Vince opens with men’s and women’s luxury basics and home décor. For timeless pieces, the iconic Carolina Herrera has something for everyone and her newest shop is located near Saks Fifth Avenue. Fashionista Tory Burch has revealed her renovated boutique and the place for everything-travel, TUMI, has renovated its space.

The Hilton Garden Inn shows off its $5 million renovation. The six-story building and its 180 guest rooms now feature contemporary interiors including updated glass showers, captivating artwork, inviting furniture and no more carpeting. Instead, all rooms now have sleek tile flooring. The hotel is ideally located next to The Gardens Mall and a few miles from the sea.

PGA National Resort & Spa offers plenty of golf to the sport’s enthusiasts, and now it’s getting even better. One of its five courses—the Champion Course—reopens after a $1 million renovation by Nicklaus Design. As the home of the PGA Tour’s annual Honda Classic, the challenging course’s improvements include the removal of palm trees and new green complexes that were rebuilt, shaped and grassed. Additionally, one-third of an acre was recaptured on the putting surfaces, adding an average of 800 square feet per green.
