Feeding South Florida Virtual Outrun Hunger 5K

Feeding South Florida will invite people across South Florida to lace up their running shoes for the virtual 10^th Annual Outrun Hunger 5K, the organization’s annual race to raise awareness for and end hunger and food insecurity, on Saturday, September 26, from 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Originally scheduled for March 21, the annual race was rescheduled due to COVID-19 closures. Registration costs $30 for the general public and $20 for students (with student I.D. or proof of enrollment). Participants can run or walk their favorite five-kilometer route on September 26, take photos, and tag #FeedingSouthFlorida for the chance to be featured on Feeding South Florida’s social media channels. All participants will receive an event t-shirt and medal at a drive-thru packet pick-up or via mail. The 10^th Annual Feeding South Florida Outrun Hunger 5K helps the organization make a difference in the lives of the 1.4 million residents in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties experiencing food insecurity. The need for food assistance in these counties more than doubled during the COVID-19 pandemic. For every $1 donated, Feeding South Florida can provide nine meals to people in need.
