Moms Amy Abbott and Stephanie Barimo opened Coastal Kids inside The Gardens Mall in 2019, offering beachwear for children that is not only cute but also protective in the sweltering sun. “Every day is a beach day when you live in the Sunshine State,” says Abbott. “Our swimwear provides stylish sun protection so you can enjoy your day by the pool, at the beach, or on the boat and not worry about harmful sun rays.”
The store carries popular brands such as Snapper Rocker, Quicksilver, O’Neill, and Roxy in an array of high-quality goods. And last year, the duo took the business a step further, launching their own line under the Coastal Kids brand featuring apparel that shares the message “Be Kind to Our Oceans.” Shop UPF-50 rash guards, swim hats, T-shirts, polos, and baseball caps adorned with playful sea creatures like turtles, dolphins, and sharks. The business partners plan to bring in new apparel and toys every three months.
