No destination says seaside chic quite like Palm Beach. The town is famous for its gorgeous sunny weather, impressive real estate, and, perhaps most iconic, its tropical twist on signature style. It’s been said that, “Palm Beach is the perfect runway for bold prints and succulent colors,” and we believe that these words ring just as true in interiors. It is a playful and colorful mix of tropical, coastal, and Hollywood Regency.

The key ingredients infused in Palm Beach style includes: pinks, greens, blue and white (often as) stripes.  And best of all ‘natural light.’

Palm Beach interiors have long reflected the travels, penchants, and whimsies of the town’s worldly inhabitants. But as real estate on this tiny barrier island becomes increasingly valuable, residents are calling on top designers to help fine-tune their visions, giving rise to a fresh tropical design vernacular.

This is the reason Gil Walsh relocated to Palm Beach, 12+ years ago, to open an interior design firm. Now she has a team of 16, located in her 5000 square foot, West Palm Beach studio and now on Worth Avenue. Worth Avenue will be a one stop experience for all design elements, products and of course, interior design inspiration. This new concept draws innovation from Gil’s 25+ years in the design industry. A considered effort has been made to create this new design collaboration.

She features the vendors that she has used over these past years. She is creating a decidedly modern take on a classic. She knows that Palm Beach interiors are known for their electric pops of color and pattern, these bold distinctions would not be nearly as powerful without the neutral canvas they play on. She says, “Choose a neutral backdrop and neutrals for your most dominant pieces of furniture. Keep your space light and airy and bounce nature’s sunlight across the room for a bright and brilliant interior.” Then bring in your bold accents.

Palm Beach chic can also have a coastal vibe. In the simplest definition, coastal is beachy. Through use of natural light, soft tones, and a clean aesthetic, it’s meant to evoke the breeziness of the beach. Basically, it feels like summer year-round inside your house.

As one of Palm Beach’s leading interior design firms, Gil Walsh Interiors has been recognized for their fresh, sophisticated approach to creating beautiful spaces. Inspired by the light and hues of the coastal subtropics while combining classic taste with updated elements.
