The idea to launch The Pretty Picnic was born during the pandemic, says founder Gladys Prieto. “People were more comfortable being outside, and I was looking for a creative outlet,” she says of her event company that specializes in styling and catering luxury picnics across South Florida. She comes from a financial background but wanted to use her interior design talents to create memorable events. In a typical month, Prieto says she organizes more than 100 outdoor picnics at venues ranging from clients’ backyards to local parks and beaches.
Themes may be as simple as an intimate brunch or date night or as elaborate as a bridal shower, bachelorette party, or birthday bash. The company takes care of everything to allow clients to enjoy a worry-free experience. The picnics all include a grazing board for guests featuring a variety of cheeses, seasonal fruits, and crackers, plus sparkling or still water and juices. Optional charcuterie or brunch board upgrades are also available.
