College kids have long come to Florida during the spring, enjoying a vacation from academia and escaping late winter weather. However, the term “spring break” was not popular until the 1950s, when large numbers of northern students began flocking to Fort Lauderdale, and to a lesser extent, Daytona Beach or Panama City. But Bernard Moran visited a place not usually on the spring break itinerary. He recalls how he discovered Palm Beach.

A graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia, he wholeheartedly roots for the Explorers in basketball and fervently roots against Temple, St. Joe, Villanova and some Ivy League school � oh, Penn.

Mark Corbett is the associate publisher of Gulfstream Media Group�s flagship magazine - Gold Coast. He oversees day-to-day operations and is ultimately accountable for the profitability of our Southern magazine team. His experienced creative eye, keen sense of the marketplace, and overall business savvy allows him to partner with a myriad of fascinating clients. Mark is also practiced in the integration of print and digital media and assists with Social Media and digital strategies throughout our group. Alyssa Morlacci is the managing editor of Gulfstream Media Group. She moved to South Florida after graduating from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State University in Ohio. During her time at Kent State, she attained high honors and served as editor-in-chief of the university’s award-winning magazine, The Burr. Following graduation, Alyssa worked for Cleveland Magazine and The Independent in Ohio, and for South Florida’s Sun Sentinel. When she isn’t obsessing over sentence structures, she’s likely sipping a cup of coffee, watching a local performance or participating in the latest exercise fad.

Holly loves traveling, sports, reading and trying out new restaurants. On the weekends you can catch her at the beach enjoying the sunshine or binge-watching her favorite Netflix shows.
