Drone videos seem to be the latest trend, but something about getting that rarely seen, birds-eye-view of your hometown is always breathtaking.
West Palm Beach native and professional cinematographer Michael LaFrance recently released two short clips of Jupiter Lighthouse at sunset and sundown, and we’re honestly in awe.
LaFrance used a DJI Phantom 3 drone, which he’s been operating for nearly three years, to capture the beauty of our beloved beacon.
“For me, it’s getting to see things from a different perspective,” he said.
LaFrance began working with drones because he wanted to practice taking different shots of iconic locations in Palm Beach County. He has taken aerial footage of West Palm Beach, Okeechobee and Jupiter.
As the popularity of drones continues to grow, LaFrance advises operators to be responsible and respectful to the community so that society will become more comfortable with their presence.
As for LaFrance, he is already as comfortable as can be, as you can see from his videos.
“I definitely have a sense of freedom when I’m flying the drone,” he said.
