After an incredible summer season of sea turtle nesting and ocean conservation efforts, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center has many reasons to celebrate. The organization also recently closed nominations for the twelfth annual Go Blue Awards, which recognize individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations from across the globe that make extraordinary strides toward ocean conservation.

To kick off this year’s Go Blue Awards, Loggerhead Marinelife Center will host a free Virtual Happy Hour on Thursday, September 24, beginning at 6 p.m. via Facebook Live and YouTube Live. The center will announce the finalists for the award ceremony, which will be hosted virtually on Friday, October 23. This year’s Go Blue Awards will recognize the lifelong accomplishments of National Geographic Magazine wildlife photographer Joel Sartore, who will serve as the ceremony’s keynote speaker.
