Loggerhead Marinelife Center is challenging you to go plastic free at Marinelife Day on Aug. 18.
The sixth annual Marinelife Day event will be held in the Grand Court at The Gardens Mall to benefit LMC and to educate the public on ocean conservation and sea turtles.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and promises an interactive afternoon in a family friendly environment. This year’s theme is #PlasticFreeWithLMC, which will emphasize the importance of reducing single-use plastics from everyday routines.
LMC’s mascot, Fletch, will be making an appearance, and ocean-themed activities and exhibits will be a part of the event, highlighting the conservation, rehabilitation and research work carried out at LMC.
Guests will have chances to win prizes, and children will be able to enjoy LMC programs like Junior Vet Learning Labs, Conservation Corner, Sea Turtle Story Time and more.
LMC will also be announcing the winners of its fourth annual Juno Beach Pier Photo Contest at Marinelife Day.
Additionally, The Gardens Mall will be hosting a Shop & Share, donating five percent of the day’s total logged shopping receipts to LMC. So if you go shopping that day, make sure you mention LMC when you show your receipts at one of the information desks.
Some retail stores will also be individually contributing to LMC, including Alex and Ani, Brooks Brothers, Bunulu, California Pizza Kitchen, J. McLaughlin, Jimmy Choo, Kendra Scott, Lilly Pulitzer, Madewell, Michael Kors and Tory Burch.
