The Container Store Is Now Open In Palm Beach Gardens, Providing Locals With Plenty Of Organizational Goodies

Palm Beach Gardens’ newest retail store screams spick-and-span. From the plastic bins stacked in symmetrical rows to the glass jars lining the shelves, everything in The Container Store has its proper place.

More than 1,000 guests mixed and mingled up and down the neat-and-tidy aisles—ogling at all the organizational products The Container Store is famous for—during an Aug. 25 private preview party that kicked off the 25,000-square-foot shop's grand opening in Legacy Place.

Live music blared from a stage set up in the middle of the room, complete with a black-and-white checkered dance floor. The check-out area became a cocktail bar for the evening, serving beer, wine and spirits. Food stations were tucked away in the orderly displays of several departments, including kitchen, which harbored desserts.

Employees from all across the country attended the affair to celebrate the debut of the chain’s 81st store.

“It’s just a big hello,” said sales trainer Charlie Lyon, of Denver. “We wanted to introduce ourselves and everyone who works here to the community.”

The store’s grand opening took place two days later, on Aug 27, featuring Lyon and other store workers in a Rockettes-style kickline performance—a longstanding tradition. The day also welcomed “super fan” Sarah Lamm, who won the most devoted shopper contest.

Lamm was first in line and received a gold cart in which to collect merchandise. The grand opening extended through Aug, 29, and 10 percent of proceeds from weekend sales went to the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.

“We’re committed to supporting all our stores’ local communities, making them stronger and ensuring we are a big part of their success,” Melanie Graham, a representative for The Container Store, said. “We are thrilled to partner with Maltz Jupiter Theatre, as we know it is an organization our employees and customers are passionate about and is doing so much to entertain, educate and inspire the Palm Beach Gardens-area community.”
