It’s light, fluffy and probably taking over your Instagram feed.
It’s latte art, and Oceana Coffee Lounge in Tequesta is trying to find the best artist out there at its latest Barista Throwdown competition July 23 at 6:30 p.m.
Each barista who thinks he or she is the Leonardo da Vinci of lattes has four minutes to craft as many of the drinks as possible, each topped with a beautiful work of foamy art. Baristas can also be judged for creativityand taste by making specialty coffee drinks from their own recipes.
Three celebrity judges will pick the winners this month: Howard Freedland from Bulletproof Wine & Spirits, Nicole Dana from Broward-Palm Beach New Times and Amy Duell from Oceana Coffee.
Admission for competitors is $5. The top three baristas have the opportunity to win cash prizes.
The event is free for spectators, but each vote costs $2.
