Our December Issue Will Help You Get Glammed Up Galas And Guide You To The Perfect Holiday Gift For Your Pet

December always sneaks up on me. I'm barely done reminiscing about my summer vacation and praying for some cooler weather when I see Christmas trees up in stores before Halloween. That's when it hits me—peak season is upon us—let the games begin! The Palm Beaches have no shortage of social events—charity galas, luncheons, themed parties, client events, open houses and fabulous fetes—that keep us prepping, primping and posh for at least six months out of the year. Fashion plays an important role during season, so to keep you camera ready for all your engagements, we bring you our “Gala Guide”—a definitive guide to dressing for the social season, whether it's a black-tie gala, ladies luncheon or the many themed parties that abound. We also provide you with an easy “Gala Playbook” to have you perfectly coiffed in no time at all.

You'll be as well-coiffed as our cover model, Miss Florida USA 2016 Brie Gabrielle, who is actually more comfortable in a swimsuit, and would rather be fishing or snorkeling than getting all glammed up. As someone who is judged by her outside appearance, this down-to-earth young lady is well-grounded and knows it's what's on the inside that counts—your mindset, your inner strength and knowing who you are—that truly makes you beautiful. As a reminder that some things are beyond her control, and to help her stay calm, cool and collected, and enjoy the moment, she had the words “Just Breathe” tattooed on her wrist.

Living and breathing (and sniffing and drinking) wines is what Ted Mandes, founder and chair of the Palm Beach Wine Auction, does to prepare for the Kravis Center's annual fundraiser, held at Mar-a-Lago, featuring world-class wines and spirits. Experience “36 hours in Napa Valley,” wining and dining through the rolling hills with the experts, and plan your trip for next fall before the Christmas trees go up.

Don't forget that special pet on your holiday list this year—check out our “Ultimate Pet Guide” for that pampered pooch or finicky feline in your life. You can even use our guide of pet charities as a way of gifting to those who are unable to help themselves.

During the holidays, take time to enjoy your loved ones, your life, your blessings, and remember when this hectic season has you frazzled, heed advice from Miss Florida and just breathe!
