Since closing its North Palm Beach location in 2020 during the pandemic, the renowned Ruth’s Chris Steak House didn’t have a presence on Florida’s east coast between West Palm Beach and Orlando—until now. In June, the fine-dining chain opened at Harbourside Place, bringing its signature cuts like the 26-ounce marbleized cowboy rib eye to Jupiter.

“We put love and dedication into each steak, shaping them and drying them to perfection so that when we season them they really absorb the salt and pepper,” says executive chef Kendris Candelario. “We seal the steak in an 1,800-degree broiler to the customer’s choice temperature, then put it on a 500-degree sizzling hot plate with our creamy butter on top and a little touch of parsley. The creaminess and saltiness of the butter adds a little bit of texture and flavor profile.” Although their meats are plenty juicy on their own, sauces including a homemade béarnaise are available.

Dishes can be turned into a surf-and-turf entrée by adding shrimp or a lobster tail. Those in the mood for something other than steak can opt for tasty dishes like salmon and shrimp with New Orleans–style bayou sauce, a chopped salad, or oven-roasted chicken breast stuffed with garlic-herb cheese and “secret ingredients,” says Candelario.

The Ruth’s Chris experience is meant to be shared among family and friends, and an array of oversize side dishes complement the main course. The chef recommends the sweet potato casserole. Steamed a day in advance, the potatoes are seasoned with eggs, vanilla, salt, and brown sugar, baked, and served with butter, pecans, and brown sugar on top. Candelario suggests adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream to transform it into a dessert. And the creamed spinach was a favorite of Ruth’s Chris founder Ruth Fertel.

The restaurant’s location by the water makes it a great spot for happy hour too, which offers menu items starting at just nine dollars, available at the bar and on the outdoor patio. 105 Breakwater Court, Jupiter; 561.831.4440
