Celebrate summer with immersive sea turtle experiences at Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach. Enjoy a variety of fun, interactive programs on the beach and at the Center during the peak of sea turtle nesting season from May to September. Registration is now available.

Evening Guided Tours

Beat the heat at exclusive evening tours of the center. Meet current sea turtle patients and learn about sea turtle nesting behaviors along our local beaches. This hour-long tour is available through July. Registration is $25.

Guided Turtle Walk

This program provides a rare opportunity to observe a female loggerhead sea turtle as she nests and lays eggs on the beach. Now through July, guests will enjoy an engaging presentation from one of the center’s permitted staff before embarking on this journey. Registration is $40.

Hatchling Discovery Program

Start mornings in August and September by witnessing a sea turtle nest inventory. Guests will set out on a short beach walk and learn about identifying sea turtle crawls, nesting, and the hatching process. If a nest is located, permitted staff will excavate the eggs the nest and release any healthy hatchlings found along the way.

Hatchling Release

Watch hatchlings making their way to the ocean during this evening program throughout August. The experience begins with a brief presentation about sea turtles, their nesting behavior, and the hatching process. Then, Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff will lead guests down to the beach to view hatchlings being released into the ocean using night-vision technology for the most authentic experience.

Summer By the Sea Lecture Series

Enjoy an after-hours lecture series that brings the community together with scientists, conservationists, advocates, and change-makers of marine science and stewardship. The next event will feature a Coral Reef Awareness Week lecture by Joanna Walczak, Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Vice President of Conservation, on July 23. Registration is $20.

Plastic-Free July Community Action Day

On July 19, take action for the ocean during the Second Annual Plastic-Free July Community Action Day. Community members are invited to join a community beach cleanup, followed by a special screening of Schoolyard Films’ Ocean Plastic short film series. Other opportunities include participation in marine debris activations, hearing from leaders in pollution prevention, and shopping sustainable products in the gift shop.
