The Arc of Palm Beach County is seeking donations of old or damaged surfboards to support the Artisan Program.

The program empowers individuals with developmental disabilities to use their imaginations to create one-of-a-kind art pieces. Through collaboration with staff and volunteers, the artisans produce mosaics, paintings, greeting cards, and other various forms of art.

One of the most popular mosaic projects involves transforming long and short surfboards into works of art with mosaic tiles depicting beach scenes.

Surfboards can be dropped off at one of The Arc’s campuses in Palm Beach County, including Arc’s main campus at 1201 Australian Avenue, Riviera Beach, FL 33404.

Members of the program can sell their creations at local markets, art shows, festivals, online, and by special order to earn an income and gain life experiences.
