Vacationing In The Keys? Book A Stay At 24 North Hotel

812

When you plan your vacations to Key West, you probably begin by booking a stay at one of the hotels lined up along Duval Street. I’ll admit, that’s what I’ve done in the past, always wanting to be as close to the action as possible.

It hadn’t crossed my mind to stay on the “other side” of the island (even though Key West is only 2-by-4 miles) until I heard about 24 North Hotel.

Take the bridge on Overseas Highway from Stock Island, and the hotel sits at the entrance of Key West, right alongside the water.

The breathtaking view isn’t the only thing that makes 24 North Hotel’s location a worthy spot for your next trip—the fact that it isn’t in the busiest part of town means that you’ll be able to vacation in peace.

Duval Street is only about 3.5 miles away from 24 North Hotel, and the hotel provides a convenient trolley system that drops you off right at Mallory Square. The hotel’s location allows you to go out and have a good time, and then come back to a quiet, serene space, giving you the best of both worlds.

If that alone doesn’t convince you, 24 North Hotel’s amenities will. It boasts suites and junior suites; a gym near the pool, which is housed in an aesthetically pleasing glass structure; and the Sunset Green, a 12,105-square-foot lawn space, serving as a venue for both public and private events. Sunset Green is also the space used for movie nights, yoga classes, lawn games and more.

Dining options at 24 North Hotel include The Blind Pig, a food truck located on the Sunset Green featuring sandwiches, tacos and more; Toasted Coconut, the poolside bar with appetizers, salads and sandwiches; and Republica Bar & Lounge, located in the hotel lobby, serving up craft cocktails with a varied mix of mojito options.

Other thoughtful touches throughout 24 North Hotel include wooden swings located near the pool; vibrant Cuban decor; original imagery by Jorge de la Torriente in all guest rooms; bike rentals; complimentary yoga; and official affiliations with Rodriguez Cigar Factory and De La Gallery

Speaking of Rodriguez Cigar Factory, it’s a can’t-miss for your next Key West trip. The Cuban family business is the oldest cigar manufacturer in the Keys (open since 1984), and tours of the small shop include learning how to roll your very own cigar using traditional Cuban techniques.

Another must-see while you’re in the Keys? Key West First Legal Rum Distillery—which, yes, was the first legal rum distillery in the area. Take a tour to learn more about the “chef-distilled” rum and to sample the flavors. We recommend sticking around for the mojito-making class to learn the right way (read: the Cuban way) to make the cocktail.

If you’re feeling active during your stay, head over to Lazy Dog Adventures, where you can kayak, paddle board, take a boat adventure and more.

So there you have it, 24 North Hotel is your new excuse to get away for a long weekend. If you’re looking for some peace and quiet, let the hotel be your key. Unlock the adventure at 24northhotel.com.
