West Palm Beach’s Elizabeth Ave. Station Boasts Local Vendors And Small-Batch Products

Amid warehouses and the newly opened Grandview Public Market is Elizabeth Ave. Station, bursting at the seams with creativity. Cacti, hanging potted plants and artisan jewelry decorate the new spot calling the Warehouse District home.

Elizabeth Ave. Station owner Danielle Zelaya founded Gather and Seek, a resident design studio, first. And after Gather and Seek successfully completed design work for the Warehouse District, the developer, Johnstone Capital Partners, asked if she was interested in taking over the large warehouse at the end of the road.

“[Elizabeth Ave. Station] was created by me as a passion project after having a stars aligning moment,” Zelaya says.

She took the opportunity and ran with it, transforming the old warehouse into the event-driven retail market it is today.

Her goal is “to bring opportunities to like-minded, talented, hardworking people,” she says. “West Palm Beachers deserve opportunity and a place to be inspired.”

The Concept

Known as “The Station,” Zelaya’s brainchild is made up of a three-tier membership program. Options range from “The Station Friend,” which is for those who want to use the lounge space and sip on coffee compliments of Subculture; to “The Station Dreamer,” which is for those interested in hosting a pop-up shop at three events throughout the year; to the “Retail Membership,” which is for those inclined to sell products on a more permanent basis.

Rust & Wax

The Vendors

Upon walking into the warehouse, guests are greeted with a light, airy retail space made up of more than a dozen station vendors who are selling everything from handmade cards and pottery, to clothing and antiques. There’s even a resident artist, Evan Sahlman, who can be found painting on large canvases in the back with a gallery.

Makers swap out interchangeably, allowing for new creatives to showcase their many talents. Among the retailers is Rust & Wax by Melanie and Jesse Feldman. Browse shelving units stocked with vintage radios and antique items in addition to tapes and old records. Dark Forest Factory is a 100-percent pure essential oils soap and candle company that sells small-batch products. Heartswell by Renee Griffith offers letterpress cards for any occasion, and there are several clothing retailers, including Simplicity in Mind and Urban Vintage. Plus, shop Rowhouse, Norcross, Avenue Pottery, Palm Beach Native and Article80.

The fun doesn’t stop with retail. The Station also hosts numerous events throughout the month, including yoga and open mic nights on Thursdays.
