Get your sparklers lit, barbeque grills fired up and American flag-themed apparel ready: July 4 is right around the corner. South Florida is the place to be for a memorable celebration thanks to its firework shows, food and drink specials, rooftop parties and endless entertainment.

That being said, here are 10 places are the top 10 places to celebrate the Fourth of July in Palm Beach and Broward counties.

Palm Beach County

Don’t miss out on one of the largest free Fourth of July events in South Florida. Bring the whole family to West Palm Beach’s annual Fourth on Flagler, complete with delicious food offerings, live music, children’s activities, a beer garden and a ceremony honoring the military. Large scale versions of your favorite games are sure to bring out everyone’s competitive side, from life-size pong and Jenga to human foosball.

 

Stay until the end of the night for a dazzling 18-minute fireworks show over the Intracoastal Waterway at 9 p.m. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. along Flagler Drive from Banyan Boulevard south to Fern Street.

 

Delray Beach’s Independence Day Celebration

Dodge tilt walkers dressed as Uncle Sam and indulge in your favorite treats at Delray Beach’s Independence Day celebration. Whether you participate in the cheeseburger and custard eating contests, get your face painted or show off at the local volleyball tournament, there won’t be a shortage of activities to enjoy.

 

Back-to-back live music acts begin at 5 p.m., and an endless array of food vendors selling everything from pizza and tacos to ice cream and shaved ice will be available all day. A fireworks display over the Atlantic Ocean will end the night at 9 p.m.

Celebrate the Fourth of July in style with chef James Strine’s “Bubbles and BBQ.” Kick your July 4 fare up a notch with Trophy Room’s special barbeque menu, which includes pulled pork sandwiches ($17), smoked short rib plates ($32), Kobe hot dogs ($15) and the “Smash Burger” ($18). BBQ, Brews & Blues

Who says the party has to stop on July 4? Keep the celebrations going on Saturday, July 6 with West Palm Beach’s sixth annual BBQ, Brews and Blues in the Historic Northwest District. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., dig into delicious samples of southern soul food and craft beers courtesy of local vendors.

 

This family friendly event will also feature the blues-funk fusion of CeCe Teneal’s tribute to Aretha Franklin, as well as the contemporary blues of Albert Castiglia and Selwyn Birchwood. Free parking will be available on-site, and there will be trolley service available from downtown West Palm Beach.

Boston’s on the Beach

While enjoying Boston’s on the Beach’s Fourth of July live music and waterfront views, feel extra patriotic with the restaurant’s aptly named signature cocktail “The Patriot.” It combines Tito’s Handmade Vodka, lemon and lime juices, muddled strawberries, and Blue Curaçao liqueur for the most festive drink one could ask for. Boston’s has extended hours on July 4 starting at 11 a.m.

In true Fourth of July fashion, there will be beach games, hot dog and apple pie eating contests, bounce houses, live music, face painting, family activities, a kids zone and more. Don’t leave the festivities early – there will be an extravagant fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Peruse the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk next to Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, and enjoy live music, food vendors and fun from noon to 10 p.m. Tip: Get a stellar view of the Fourth of July Spectacular’s fireworks show at The LandShark Bar and Grill.

From 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., enjoy your favorite bites and drink specials on its rooftop terrace, such as hot dogs, burgers, chicken wings, fries, a popsicle cart and more. If you’re feeling competitive, grab your friends and team up in corn hole, Jenga and beer pong for a patriotic win.

 

The event is $10, but if you want to take it to the next level, daybeds will be available to rent for $100 with a minimum food and beverage spend of $200, and cabanas can be rented for $300 with a minimum food and beverage spend of $300.
