Do Your Part
John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, North Palm Beach
Love the park? Help keep it that way. Adult volunteers can work in the Nature Center or gift shop, drive the tram, assist with maintenance projects, support environmental education, or help with sea turtle programs. Younger do-gooders aren’t left out either: the park’s Junior Friends program offers opportunities for kids, while its Citizen Science Marine Debris Program welcomes volunteers of all ages to help keep the beach and ocean clean. Consider it time well spent in one of our prettiest backyards.

Serve It Up
St. George Table, Riviera Beach
A hot meal can go a long way. St. George Table serves people experiencing homelessness and hardship in Riviera Beach, and volunteers are an essential part of the operation. Sign up on your own or round up a group to lend a hand; the organization welcomes regular, seasonal, and one-time volunteers alike. Food donations are also accepted at its temporary meal-service location at Victory City Church, where lunch is served Monday through Friday.

Be the Village
Place of Hope, Palm Beach Gardens
There’s more than one way to show up for a child. At Place of Hope, volunteers can prepare meals, teach art or music, help spruce up the campus, pitch in at events, or share practical skills through independent-living classes. Have less time? Host a drive for food, toiletries, school supplies, clothing, or other needed items. For those ready for a bigger commitment, mentors meet one-on-one with a child, teen, or young adult twice a month for at least a year.

Skill Set
El Sol Neighborhood Resource Center, Jupiter
Got a skill? El Sol can put it to work. Volunteers can help out by sharing what they know through the center’s adult education programs. Current workshops range from painting and bicycle repair to sewing, kitchen training, and light construction.

Special Delivery
Pearl Mae Foundation, Jupiter
Here’s one errand worth adding to your list. The Pearl Mae Foundation supports low-income seniors, and its volunteer opportunities are refreshingly straightforward: shop for supplies, organize essentials into care packages, or deliver those packages directly to seniors’ doors. Not sure where you’re most needed? There’s even a “put me wherever you need me” option on the volunteer form. Sometimes doing some good really can be as simple as picking up groceries and making a delivery.
