Blackbird Modern Asian in Jupiter will honor Lunar New Year and usher in the Year of the Snake during a Snake Charming Celebration January 29 and February 1.
To celebrate the auspicious occasion, executive chef Tim Nickey will serve a luck-laden menu of Pan-Asian favorites such as dumplings and egg rolls, which symbolize wealth; fish, symbolizing prosperity; and duck, which welcomes health and happiness in the Lunar New Year. Nickey is also preparing Longevity Egg Noodles with Maine lobster, scallions, ginger, and garlic butter sauce.
Executive pastry chef and two-time Guy’s Grocery Games winner Denise Elrod will craft an ube cheesecake, formed into a snake and presented on a rotating cake stand with tangerine agar, honey-coconut whip, edible flowers, and chocolate “soil” made from Oreo cookie crumbs.
DJ Karina will spin both nights from 5 to 11 p.m. On Saturday, Master Li Siu Hung and his award-winning dance teams will perform dragon dances at 6 and 9 p.m.
Reservations are accepted for parties of 6 or more. Walk-ins are on a first-come, first-served basis only. Seating begins at 4 p.m.
