On August 22, the Tampa General Hospital Loggerhead Triathlon will celebrate its 40th anniversary at Carlin Park. The Loggerhead Triathlon is produced by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce.
Since 1985, the Loggerhead Triathlon has welcomed thousands of athletes to Jupiter’s coastline. What began as a local race has grown into an annual tradition, drawing competitors from across Florida and the nation while maintaining the family-friendly atmosphere that has defined the event for four decades.
For many participants, the Loggerhead Triathlon is tradition. Athletes who competed decades ago continue to return year after year, while many have introduced family members and friends to the sport through the event.
To commemorate the occasion, all participants in the 2026 event will receive a special 40th Anniversary finisher medal recognizing this historic milestone.
The race begins at 7 a.m. on August 22, at Carlin Park in Jupiter and features a 3/8-mile ocean swim, 13-mile bike ride, and 3.1-mile run. Participants may compete as individuals or as part of a relay team. Additional divisions include a duathlon and an aquabike, providing opportunities for athletes of all experience levels.
The event also welcomes new athletes through its First Timer Division and First Timer Seminar, designed to help participants confidently prepare for race day. A discounted registration rate is available for athletes ages 14 to 19.
