Goat brothers Apollo and Zeus do everything together—from taking sunrise beach trips to kayaking the Intracoastal in Jupiter.
Their most recent venture: paddleboarding.
Royal Palm Beach resident Lisa Pinder bought almost 2-year-old Apollo as a Christmas present for her oldest daughter, Jessie, in 2014. Before long, the goat was a part of the family and joined in on swimming and outdoor activities.
“We took him many places with us, including to the beach,” Pinder said. “We started by having Apollo try the [paddleboard] in our pool. He was quite comfortable and did very well with that; his balance was very good.”
To give Apollo a companion, the family bought his actual 7-month-old brother, Zeus, in July. Since reuniting, the two have been inseparable, and they’re always up for adventures together.
“We love to [paddleboard] and kayak in the Intracoastal in Jupiter, so Jessie decided to take them with us recently,” Pinder said.
And it turns out the two are surprisingly good swimmers.
“The goats weren’t so sure about the water at first, but they swim very well,” Pinder said. “They did great. They were very calm and relaxed and had a good time. After that, we took them across the street to play at the beach.”
