If you’re a regular at Lola Chiq at Downtown at The Gardens, then you’re familiar with the stylish boutique and its punchy pink accents. Sisters Maria and Marietta Mercado opened their brick-and-mortar store in 2011, offering shoppers hand-picked fashion curated from around the world. And now, they’ve opened a new concept, The Accessory Bar, highlighting all of their favorite accessories.
“Our clients love our accessories, and we found that in the boutique setting, which is small and intimate, we were limited to the amount of inventory we could offer at a time,” Marietta says.
So, the next logical step for the sisters was to open a separate space dedicated solely to accessories. It sits just two doors down from Lola Chiq and provides a different shopping experience.
Interior walls are painted a calm beige, allowing the jewelry to act as the focal point in the room. Natural touches like greenery and wooden details help bring the space together.

The Accessory Bar houses a curated collection of fine and costume jewelry. It also carries a more permanent collection of dainty pieces that are ideal for layering from local and international designers like Viviana D Ontañón. Pieces are on trend, including chokers and long necklaces with medals and ancient coins.
Shop styles from Zahira Fine Jewellery, Modern Opus and David Aubrey, as well as Carëi, a jewelry line custom-made for The Accessory Bar, among others. Guests can find something for every taste, from bold statement earrings, necklaces and bracelets featuring colorful tassels, to elegant neutrals in tortoise and organic materials like wood and natural stone.
Also available are handbags and shoes from national brands like TKEES, Melie Bianco, By Lilla and Look by M.
“The same way Lola Chiq has become a one-stop-shop for fashion, we want to make The Accessory Bar our clients’ go-to place when it comes to jewelry,” Maria says.
This season, be on the lookout for monthly trunk shows and special events presented by Maria and Marietta that highlight their in-house designers.
