The season of Broadway hits continues as the Maltz Jupiter Theater stages David Lindsay-Abaire’s Tony Award-nominated play Good People, February 12-26. Good People explores the American working-class experience, examining our choices and how they shape our lives. The play shines a light on our everyday struggles and hopes.
With dynamic characters, hard-hitting truths, witty dialogue, and healthy doses of humor and charm, Good People follows lifelong South Boston resident Margie Walsh, a hardworking single mother who finds herself unemployed with bills piling up. When her high school flame—now a successful doctor—throws a party for his affluent friends, Margie decides to crash it in search of work. What ensues is a confrontation about choices and their consequences.
The Maltz Jupiter Theatre production is directed by award-winning director, actor, and writer Jerry Dixon. As a director, Dixon has helmed the premiere or development productions of Hart Island, Ferguson, Modern, A Proper Place, Barnstormer, Gun & Powder, Take Me America, Great Wall, Hansel & Gretl & Heidi & Gunter, and the first full production of Kirtsen Child’s Funked Up Fairy Tales. As a stage actor, Dixon has appeared on Broadway and off-Broadway, starring in the original cast of Once On This Island. As a television actor, his credits include guest-starring roles on The Blacklist, FBI: Most Wanted, Blue Bloods, Law & Order, Gotham, and Everwood.
