Help the important men in your life sip fashionably this Father’s Day with coordinated looks and cocktails by Tommy Bahama. The forthcoming Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar at The Gardens Mall locale has whipped up an array of cocktails to match the styles of the guys in our lives, from the beach lovers and weekend warriors, to the grill masters and golf pros.
Clean and Classic
For the guy who opts for Tommy Bahama’s clean-lined polo shirts with sun protection and moisture wicking for a day on the golf course, the Cucumber Smash helps him stay refreshed and relaxed for his best game:
- 1 one-inch thick cucumber slice, peeled and quartered, plus 2 thin cucumber wheels, for garnish
- ½ oz. fresh lime juice
- 1 ¾ oz. gin
- ¾ oz. elderflower liqueur
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- 1 oz. soda water
In a rocks glass, muddle the thick cucumber slice with the lime juice. Add the gin, liqueur, simple syrup, and ice. Stir to combine. Top up with the soda water. Garnish with the cucumber wheels.
Fun and Floral
If lively and tropical are more your man’s speed, look to some of Tommy Bahama’s signature camp shirts. They are lightweight, breezy, and up for any adventure. Match the shirt’s boldness with Tommy’s take on the G & T, and pair its flair with fresh fruit garnishes.
Tommy G & T
- 1 piece lemon peel
- 1 thin cucumber wheel
- 1 fresh raspberry
- 5 juniper berries or pink peppercorns
- 2 oz. Tommy Bahama Island Gin
- 5-7 oz. tonic water
- Dash of grapefruit bitters
- Edible flower for garnish (optional)
Put the lemon peel, cucumber, raspberry, and juniper berries in a wine glass. Fill the glass with ice. Add the gin, then the tonic water, pouring each down the inside of the glass. Add the bitters and stir gently once or twice. Garnish with the flower.
Pastels and Pinkies Up
Made from soft premium linen for comfort in warmer weather, the Sea Glass Breezer is pigment printed with solid blues, yellows, or corals for a look that gets better over time. The crisp collar, cuffs, and hem deserve an elite cocktail pairing. Look no further than The Grapefruit Basil Martini, a sweet, sophisticated twist on the classic sip.
Grapefruit Basil Martini
- 2 ½ oz. vodka or gin
- 1 ¼ oz. grapefruit juice
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- 2 fresh basil leaves
Combine the vodka, grapefruit juice, simple syrup, and one basil leaf in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with the remaining basil leaf.
