Loggerhead Marinelife Center will host the Sixteenth Annual Go Blue Awards at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach October 24. The finalists represent excellence in ocean conservation across three categories, recognizing individuals, youth, and businesses/nonprofit organizations.

This year’s keynote speaker is Kerry Sanders, who will be honored with The Eleanor Fletcher Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifelong commitment to marine conservation. As a Peabody- and Emmy Award-winner, Sanders has covered topics from adventure stories to major news events. He has played a pivotal role in spotlighting conservation efforts around the globe, advocating for the protection of vulnerable sea turtle populations.

The Blue Ambassador of the Year Award recognizes a person who has made significant contributions to ocean conservation through volunteering and work-related efforts. The finalists are:

  • Dr. Denise Herzing, founder of the Wild Dolphin Project
  • Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, co-founder of Urban Ocean Lab
  • Dr. Terry Norton, founder of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center

The Blue Hatchling Youth Award recognizes a student who has contributed to marine conservation through volunteer activities. The finalists are:

  • Lidea “Liddy” Clever
  • Emiliana Fuger
  • Isaac Nelson

The Blue Business of the Year Award/Nonprofit of the Year Award recognizes a business or nonprofit that has made outstanding contributions to promoting conservation or restoration of marine life or ecosystems through its work, outreach, practices, products, or technology. The finalists are:

  • ANGARI Foundation
  • EarthEco International
  • Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County (MIAPBC)
  • WILDCOAST
