Collaboration Award Finalists
This award honors partnerships that demonstrate the power of working together. Eligible nominees include collaborations between nonprofits, businesses, and individuals—provided at least one partner is a nonprofit. Through shared resources and a common goal, these partnerships have created meaningful impact in Palm Beach or Martin counties.
1. Busch Wildlife Sanctuary and Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Launched in 2025, the year-long veterinary internship brings together Busch Wildlife Sanctuary and Loggerhead Marinelife Center to offer training that neither nonprofit could provide alone. Busch contributes hands-on experience with terrestrial wildlife, while Loggerhead Marinelife Center provides expertise in sea turtle medicine and ocean conservation. Together, their veterinary teams train two recent veterinary graduates each year in diagnostics, surgery, rehabilitation, research, and conservation medicine—strengthening wildlife care at both organizations while building the next generation of conservation veterinarians.
2. Dorothy & Sidney Kohl Jewish Volunteer Center and Palm Beach Atlantic University
Since 2020, the Dorothy & Sidney Kohl Jewish Volunteer Center and Palm Beach Atlantic University have combined Kohl JVC’s deep nonprofit network with PBA’s student-powered Workship program to mobilize volunteers across the Palm Beaches. Their signature MLK Day of Service has grown into a major community-wide effort; in 2026, more than 1,000 volunteers completed over 25 projects and nearly 2,000 hours of service in a single day. Just as important, the partnership brings a Jewish community organization and a Christian university together in shared service, creating meaningful connections across faiths, generations, and backgrounds while addressing needs ranging from hunger and literacy to housing and neighborhood improvement.
3. Palm Beach Symphony and The School District of Palm Beach County
Palm Beach Symphony and The School District of Palm Beach County have built a partnership that brings professional music education directly into public-school classrooms at no cost to the district. The Symphony’s instrument-donation work dates to 2016, and its broader education partnership has since expanded to include artist residencies, coaching, masterclasses, and access to live performances, with local students from The Conservatory School @ North Palm Beach, Jupiter High School, and Palm Beach Gardens High School among those benefiting from its initiatives. In 2025–2026, its work within the district included nine Title I schools; coaching sessions increased 434 percent, student contact hours rose 338 percent, and the number of classes engaged grew 818 percent.
