At Piknik in Palm Beach Gardens, lunch is meant to be packed up and enjoyed outdoors. The charming café and bakery makes it easy to create an alfresco meal with artisan sandwiches, fresh salads, house-made pastries, cheeses, wine, and coffee. Opened in 2021, Piknik is the passion project of husband-and-wife team Christophe and Frances Bozzano. After working as a private chef, Christophe brought his culinary background from his home in Cannes, France to Palm Beach County to create neighborhood café.

The bakery is the heart of the shop. Signature almond croissants filled with house-made almond paste share the display case with éclairs, breakfast breads, and brown butter chocolate chip cookies. At lunchtime, guests can choose from soups, quiches, fresh salads, and sandwiches like the Chicken Provençal (roasted chicken, pesto, goat cheese, and arugula).
To complete the perfect picnic, browse the shelves for imported cheeses like Camembert, Rosette de Lyon, and Délice de Bourgogne, pair them with a bottle of Miraval Rosé, and don’t forget an éclair for dessert. What makes Piknik memorable, though, isn’t just the food. Handwritten notes on lunch boxes and bakery bags reflect the Bozzanos’ simple philosophy: spread a little love through food and kindness, one picnic at a time.
