The Town of Jupiter Art Committee will honor local authors and artists during the upcoming “Awe-Inspiring Art & Authors” event this month. Featuring more than a dozen local authors, including a local school’s book project, along with dozens of literary-inspired works of art, the event will take place April 14, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Town of Jupiter Community Center Art Gallery. The free reception includes light bites, beverages, artist meet-and-greet, book signings, and more.

From mystery to action-adventure, to non-fiction and local history, visitors will discover books to suit every interest. Guest authors attending the event include: P.T.L. Perrin, Donna M. Berger, M. E. Browning, Cheryle Williams, Julie Wilcox, Amanda Pike, Timothy Svane, Stuart Klearman, MaryBeth Gregg, Dawn L. Scherb, John Cuomo, and Ruth Hartman Berge. The author event will also feature 10 students from Independence Middle School’s education academy and their illustrated book projects.

Dozens of pieces of visual art, each inspired by literary works, will be on display from April 14 through May 23. The paintings, mixed media, and photography were created by artists from the Jupiter area.

“The Art Committee is excited to promote the wealth of creativity we have in our own back yard,” said Elizabeth Dashiell, the event’s curator and Art Committee member. “Fostering and supporting the arts in Jupiter is at the heart of what we do. The sheer breadth and diversity of talent in our area truly is awe-inspiring, and we cannot wait to share it with the rest of the community and with our visitors.”

The art exhibition will be on display daily at the Jupiter Community Center located at 200 Military Trail in Jupiter. Public hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
