National Oyster Day at Lucky Shuck

Flex your “mussels” on National Oyster Day at Lucky Shuck Oyster Bar & Taphouse’s first annual Shucking Best Oyster Eating Contest on Thursday, August 5.

Each oyster athlete will have 90 seconds to shuck and down as many mollusks as he or she can. The oysters must be swallowed to be counted, and they must stay down to win. The first place winner will receive a $200 cash prize and a gift card to any of the four venues at Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street. Prizes will also be awarded to the contest’s second and third place winners.

South Florida’s Shucking Best Oyster Eating Contest is limited to 12 participants. Register here on Eventbrite. The $20 registration fee will benefit the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum. Sign in begins at 5:30 p.m. and the contest begins at 6:30 p.m.

Oyster lovers can show their salty appreciation all month long. Lucky Shuck is offering Blue Point oysters at 2 bucks a shuck throughout the month of August.
