Future Waves founder Gabrielle Raymond McGee will celebrate the release of her new children’s book, Ocean Superheroes: How Ocean Animals Help Protect Our Planet (Tiny Torch Books, Simon & Schuster), with a free launch event and book signing at Barnes & Noble in Palm Beach Gardens on June 20 at 11 a.m.

Inspired by legendary oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle, Ocean Superheroes introduces young readers to the role marine life plays in protecting the planet, while encouraging kids to become environmental changemakers.

With illustrations by Anastasiya Halionka and Angelika Scudamore, the STEM-focused picture book demonstrates ocean conservation, science education, and empowering messages for readers ages 4 to 8 years. Ocean Superheroes offers simple, actionable ways to protect oceans and marine life, and includes a glossary and additional resources for parents, educators, and learners who want to dive deeper.

Kids are welcome to come in costume for a day of ocean-themed activities and story time with Raymond McGee.

One hundred percent of net proceeds will support Future Waves’ mission to bring STEM and ocean education programs to Title I schools across Florida.
