Curtis Daniels remembers listening to the Mark McCrazy radio show on his way to school as a kid. “It seemed like they were having such a good time, and that whole vibe stuck with me,” he says of the McCrazy Experience morning show on X102.3. Yet when it came to choosing a career, radio wasn’t his first choice. “I was a theater kid, one of those weirdos,” says Daniels, who now cohosts The Mo & Sally Show on Today’s KOOL 105.5 with Mo Foster and Sally Sevareid and is also the show’s producer. “I wanted to do something that involved entertainment, but since acting is notoriously hard to get into, I thought radio would be easier.”

Born and raised in Boynton Beach, Daniels graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in multimedia journalism in 2009. During his senior year of college, he was hired as a radio intern in the very same building where he works today. “One of my first experiences was helping Jason [Pennington, of The KVJ Show] do a bit where he was going to a Walgreens with a pig,” recalls Daniels. “I remember thinking, ‘What am I involved with here, going to a store with a pig?!’ But I figured it was better than a desk job.” For the next few years, he worked in multiple positions for various iHeart stations before catching the attention of Foster and Sevareid. He joined The Mo & Sally Show full-time in 2016.

Weekday mornings, Daniels can be heard alongside the married couple, bringing a younger perspective to the show—and often playing “referee.” “It’s fun, but I’m very glad I’m single,” says Daniels, who describes himself and his cohosts as “the crazy cousins you keep at a distance but who entertain you.”

An avid fan of comic books and video games, Daniels can often be seen on West Palm Beach’s Clematis Street wearing a superhero T-shirt. He says he loves when listeners spot him and say hello, despite being lovingly dubbed “grumpy butt” by Foster. Says Daniels: “I am always down for someone to come up and say hi. I don’t want people to think I am unapproachable. I love people—in a prickly way.”
