Organization: RGF Environmental Group
Name: Ron and Gail Fink
The story of one of the world’s biggest air, water, and food purification companies located in Riviera Beach, Florida, grew from a love story.
Ron and Gail Fink grew up as friends in a small town in New Jersey. Ron started his career in the nuclear business—at Area 51 monitoring nuclear bomb testing for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). He later went into the nuclear power industry in California while Gail became a fashion model on Seventh Avenue in New York while attending night classes.
Years later, they married in the New York area on a 100-ft. private yacht and had a 10-day August honeymoon driving across the country in a 1967 Firebird convertible (with no air conditioning). They lived in Pismo Beach, California, before moving to upstate New York for a new job and to start a family. Next the family moved to Florida with three young daughters to escape the snow and start a new business.
Thirty-eight years ago, they started RGF Environmental Group on their kitchen table. The company developed products that would purify air, water, and food without the use of chemicals using soft radiation. It now has more than 500 products and headquarters in Riviera Beach, with operations in 80 countries. The couple moved to Tequesta Country Club in 1983, were one of the first residents in Admirals Cove in 1986 where they still live.
