Stepping foot inside Onessimo Fine Art Gallery is an experience for both collectors and appreciators of arts.

For more than a decade, creatives who have graced the world with their talents have had a place to display their works inside the established gallery at PGA Commons—and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“The gallery is a destination gallery,” says owner Debra Onessimo. “Because of the world-famous artists that we have that are really well-collected, people come from all over Florida. Thirty percent of our sales are done internationally just because of the level of artists that we have and the exclusive arrangements that we have.”

Behind the art

The diverse gallery exposes people to a lot of different types of art from pop, impressionist and glass, to expressionism. The gallery carries modern to post-modern prints with a specialty in Salvador Dali. Other notables include Alex Kveton and Dominic Besner.

“We only accept art that is done specifically by the artist,” Onessimo says. “Most of the artists here are world-renowned, but we do occasionally bring in a regional or an emerging artist we think is very, very special.”

Christina Narwicz’s “Mallory”

Standout pieces inside Onessimo range from a Jorge Luhan oil on canvas piece called “Tango Fugaz” and Christina Narwicz’s abstract oil on canvas “Mallory.” Massimiliano Schiavon’s “Rosso Optico” blown glass is another piece of artwork that will transform any space from bare to having a one-of-a-kind conversation starter.

Plus, the gallery is constantly updating its selection and inventory, which features more than 100 artists and thousands of pieces of art to choose from in-house. “A gallery at this level doesn’t usually have this diversity and the inventory,” Onessimo says. “I have at any time 30 to 40 pieces by any artist. It’s a lot to choose from. People can really shop and get what they need now.”

Aside from the gallery’s existing inventory, art advisory for individuals and corporations is also available. The gallery helps to build art portfolios for collectors as part of their investment portfolio.

Expansion Projects

Onessimo recently expanded its space, doubling in size to make room for a vast sculpture collection. Plus, 80 sliding walls were added to display artwork. Plans are also in the works to open a second gallery. Onessimo says St.-Tropez and Miami are both possible locations.

This month’s holiday showcase will be displayed Dec. 16 to 17 and will feature Daniel Lotton and Laura Shubert.
