Four must-try beauty and wellness treatments:

Vampire Facial

Whether you keep up with the Kardashians, or keep up with the beauty trends, chances are you’ve heard of PRP (platelet-rich plasma) used for facial aesthetic rejuvenation, otherwise known to many as the “vampire facial.” Good news for South Floridians: it’s available at the biostation in Delray Beach.

Patients can expect increased collagen production; firmer, tighter skin; and a glowing, rejuvenated complexion. This treatment works to treat fine lines and wrinkles in addition to other skin ailments, including acne scarring.

A layer of numbing cream is placed on the victim’s—we mean patient’s—face, at which time blood is also drawn from the arm and placed in a centrifuge, further revealing a layer of platelet-rich plasma, or “liquid gold.” That magic substance is then injected back into the face to help treat problem areas.

Patients can leave after the injections, or continue with microneedling to further stimulate the skin to produce more collagen.

Microneedling with PRP is offered for $900; results typically last nine to 18 months depending on the patient.

Red Wine Facial

Experience ultimate pampering with April Patterson at Dr. Patty’s Dental Boutique & Spa in Fort Lauderdale. While the original idea was to provide a more relaxed experience at the dental chair, Patterson’s business has turned into a world-class destination with cosmetic care, “smile makeovers,” facials and aesthetic offerings including mink eyelashes and Botox. Best yet, it’s home to the red wine facial—the secret to younger-looking skin.

Red wine and grape seed extracts contain antioxidant-rich polyphenols and are high in OPCs (oligomeric proanthocyanidins). These protect against environmental toxins and are 50 times more affective than vitamin E and 20 times more powerful than vitamin C, Patterson says.

The red wine facial helps fight free radical damage to collagen and inhibits the body’s natural enzymes that normally break down collagen. Patients can receive this facial packed with fruity ingredients, including red wine grapes, blueberries, cherries, pomegranates and tomatoes for $99.

Ozone Sauna

Imagine sitting in an egg-shaped contraption for 20 minutes with end results that include relaxed muscles, increased flexibility and blood circulation; reduced risk of bacterial and viral infections; and anywhere from 200 to 500 calories burned in a single session.

That contraption is the Ozone Sauna, offered at BioMetrix in Palm Beach Gardens, and should be an important part of any detoxification program, says BioMetrix CEO Alexander Catucci, a personal trainer and nutritionist.

So how does it work? “The humid heat in the sauna opens the pores, which allows the Ozone to penetrate the skin into the bloodstream, where it can travel to the fat and lymphatic system,” Catucci says. “It is very important to cleanse lymphoid tissue of toxins, and the Ozone steam sauna is the easiest and best way to accomplish this process.”

Those interested in giving it a try can receive treatments up to four times per week. Patients must sign up to be a member of the club to use the Ozone Sauna. Prices are available upon request.

Cellulite Blaster

Time to say “goodbye” to cellulite. The Icoone Technology machine is now exclusively available in the U.S. at Carmen Care Advanced Laser Therapy in Boca Raton. This device works to target the face, stomach, legs and buttocks, and works similar to a suction to tighten and tone the skin. It’s ideal for those looking to remove cellulite and stretch marks, and it even fills in lines and wrinkles.

The non-invasive procedure starts off with a mandatory lymphatic drainage to help increase lymph flow, which increases immune function and removes harmful substances from the tissues, followed by about 45 to 60 minutes with the Icoone Technology machine.

Carmen Care Advanced Laser Therapy recommends at least 10 treatments for maximum results, which is discussed at the initial consultation. Patients can receive treatments starting at $175 a session.
