Manatee Lagoon will host its tenth annual ManateeFest on February 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ManateeFest attendees can enjoy free, family-friendly activities that celebrate Florida’s iconic manatees and local waterways.
To add to the excitement, Manatee Lagoon counted the highest number of manatees in the site’s history on February 3, with 230 manatees gathered in the lagoon’s warm waters.
With cold weather continuing, manatee sightings are expected to remain strong leading into ManateeFest. During the event, guests can visit the Conservation Pledge Station and make a pledge to help protect manatees and their habitat. By participating, visitors commit to simple actions like reducing plastic use, supporting clean waterways, and respecting manatee zones, and receive a commemorative certificate to mark their pledge.
Guests are also welcome to interact with environmental exhibitors, help Mia the Manatee complete her conservation challenge, and listen to educational presentations throughout the day.
