In honor of Earth Day (April 22), Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) will host full day of eco-friendly activities April 25. The celebration includes the Great American Cleanup, Resource Depot’s Catwalk Student Fashion Show, and ocean-friendly exhibitors and educational presentations.

Throughout the day, LMC will host additional conservation-focused activities on campus, including interactive educational talks on the ecosystem terrace from noon to 1 p.m., as well as a screening of Sea Turtles of the Palm Beaches at 2 p.m. A Q&A session with staff will follow.

Great American Cleanup

From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., help Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff clean up the beach directly behind the center. All necessary equipment will be provided, and participants will receive a free T-shirt (while supplies last).

Catwalk Student Fashion Show

At 11 a.m., gather at the Brad & Joan Ingalls Amphitheater to watch Resource Depot’s fourteenth annual Student Catwalk Fashion Show. Middle and high school students will showcase designs fashioned from reclaimed supplies inspired by the stories of LMC’s sea turtles.

The students’ eco-friendly designs will return to LMC during the Center’s World Ocean Day Film Festival on June 13-14, as part of their World Ocean Month student exhibition.
