Our amazing planet deserves TLC year-round, but Earth Day serves as an annual reminder every April 22 to roll up our sleeves, get a little dirt under our nails, and nurture the land that gives us life. There are many ways you can show the planet some love—by taking part in a beach cleanup, planting a native tree, or simply getting outside and enjoying nature.
There are also a couple of special events you might consider. Join The Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park at the Pine Grove Pavilion in Hobe Sound April 19 to help pull invasive plants and learn why they are harmful to natural species. “Earth Day at Jonathan Dickinson State Park is all about connecting with nature and taking action to protect it,” says board president Jim Howe. “We invite the community to join us for a morning of adventure, learning, and restoration as we celebrate the planet together.”
And on April 26, don’t miss Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Annual Earth Day Celebration, packed with fun activities, presentations about conservation, and more.
