The Gentlemen’s Corner boutique has been dressing the Palm Beach man for three years from its location on Royal Poinciana Way. Owner Chris Dalrymple, who operates two other locations in North Carolina, opened his first shop after graduating from UNC Chapel Hill. After decades of business, he decided to open a location in Palm Beach, since he enjoys spending part of his year in the Florida weather. Through the boutique, he offers stylish attire and accessories for reasonable prices.
A mounted deer balancing plastic cups on his antlers, old tennis rackets and water skis decorate the store walls between hanging brands like Robert Graham, Scott James, Robert Talbott and Eton. The store carries everything from Royal Highnies boxers and lounge pants made with 300 thread count fabrics to alligator belts in every color, customized light linen blazers made for hot Florida days, patterned socks, bow ties, cummerbund sets and pocket squares in animal prints. Even a bloody mary mix imported from England is available behind the cash register.
“It’s colorful, fun, Southern sensibility,” Dalrymple says. It’s also meant to satisfy customers 18 to 85 years old. This is why clothing, accessories and knick-knacks range from $35 to $1,900 (the store’s most popular men’s shirts are $268, and its best-selling pants are $198). The Gentlemen’s Corner’s offers affordable style that doesn’t compromise originality and quality, which sets it apart from other Palm Beach stores. “We’re catering to a market that hasn’t had a place to shop,” Dalrymple says.
